This is a guide, not a paint test. Screens mix light, and real pigments differ by brand and by how much you stir. Treat a warning as a reason to test on a scrap.
The check looks at two things. Hues roughly opposite on the colour wheel tend to cancel to grey. Colours that are already muted give little to work with.
